It's ok if you don't have full sun all day, but a shady and damp spot might make for an anaerobic situation. This will bring unwanted bugs, a bad smell, and your garden litter won't break down properly. So I would recommend a sunnier spot than behind your garage. Happy composting!! Hi Jules,
